The team at 3t EnerMech are celebrating after being named International Training Provider of the Year at the Engineering Construction Industry (ECI) Training and Development Awards 2023.

The business picked up the accolade as the industry’s brightest and best were officially recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Cutty Sark in London, organised by the UK Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).

3t EnerMech had already been announced as Regional Winner for East Africa and the Rest of the World – making it two years in a row the training provider had won this award.

The International Training Provider of the Year award, sponsored by Petrotekno, acknowledges and celebrates excellence in the delivery of ECITB-approved training, products and services by an ECITB Global licensed international training provider.

When deciding on the regional and overall winners, a multitude of factors were considered by the judging panel, including delivery numbers, quality of training, demonstrating equality and diversity, innovation and ambition, interaction with the ECITB, collaboration and the value they add overall to their respective markets.

Paul Attrill, Vice President of Sales at 3T EnerMech, said: “After the delight of being named the ECITB’s regional training provider winner for the second year running, receiving the top international award is really the icing on the cake.

“It is a real privilege, and we would like to thank the judging panel for the recognition of our work delivering training excellence in South America, and the rest of the world.

“3t EnerMech is committed to ensuring that the oil and gas regions of the globe can access the training needed to create a highly-skilled, local, competent and safe workforce ready to progress projects as soon as they are needed.

“ECITB standards and procedures are world-class, so to be recognised as the best of the best by this organisation is a great honour and one we intend to build upon.”

‘Setting standards to which we all aspire’

A joint venture between 3t (formerly 3t Energy Group) and EnerMech, 3t EnerMech delivers world-leading training and competency solutions encompassing a blend of traditional training, digital learning technologies and training compliance management platforms.

Having originally approached the ECITB in 2021 to discuss its ambitions in a new venture in Guyana, 3t EnerMech became the first Licensed Training Provider in the country early in 2022.

Working closely with the Guyanese Government, 3t EnerMech commenced delivery of ECITB Global’s International Health and Safety Passport and the International Competence in Engineering Construction (ICE) qualifications from its training centre of excellence set up in Georgetown, Guyana.

Members of the firm turned out to collect their prize at the ECI Awards, which was hosted by engineer, broadcaster, teacher and champion for STEM opportunities, Kate Bellingham.

The event brought together industry leaders, influencers and policy makers, as well as the rising stars of tomorrow, to showcase achievements across the ECI.

ECITB Chief Executive Andrew Hockey said: “Huge congratulations to 3t EnerMech on not only being named International Training Provider of the Year, but also scooping the regional prize for a second year running.

“The award recognises its consistent delivery of high-quality training and collaborative working.

“Along with our other winners on the night, 3t EnerMech has exemplified the talent, innovation, resilience and endeavour that our industry holds in such high regard, setting standards to which we all aspire.

“It was wonderful to be in the same room to celebrate all that is great about training and development in our industry with so many partners and friends representing organisations from across the length and breadth of the UK and internationally.

“I’d also like to extend a huge thanks to Petrotekno for sponsoring this award, of which they were winners last year.”

3t EnerMech saw off the other two regional winners to scoop the overall accolade.

Qatar’s Vibrant Global won the Middle East and Caspian regional award for 2023, while the Asia Pacific regional winner was BJ Services (M) Sdn Bhd from Malaysia.
